Here at OM Bullion, we believe protecting your wealth by investing in precious metals and preserving your purchasing power is the utmost importance during global economic uncertainties. We also believe in protecting one’s retirement savings regardless of precious metals exposure by spreading awareness surrounding scams that continue to plague our lives. Gold is rising in value and scam artists are taking notice!
Scams are increasing at an alarming rate via phone calls, text messages, and online fake tech support pop-up numbers. Scammers will try to convince you that your bank and/or retirement accounts have been compromised and that you must act immediately by liquidating all your cash and buying Gold. Additionally, scammers use scare tactic words such as the following:
“Don’t tell anyone or else you will lose your money”
“You need to protect your money quickly”
“The FBI agents or law enforcement will be at your door”
“Immediate action required, do it now”
“Your accounts at risk of closure or freeze”
These are common scare tactic words scam artists use in hopes of persuading you. We underlined the words Don’t Tell Anyone as fraudsters hope you will comply due to fear. DO NOT FALL FOR IT! First and foremost, hang up and cease all communication with scammer. Your accounts are most likely fine, but if you feel otherwise, call or visit your local bank or brokerage firm immediately. However, if you have already provided sensitive information or liquidated cash or met an unknown person claiming to be an agent or courier, call your local Police immediately. Take pictures of unknown person(s) and their vehicle’s license plate.
Be vigilant, cease all communications whether online, text, or phone conversation, avoid meeting unknown individuals, and most importantly, SPEAKUP, tell a trustworthy person such as relative or call your local Police.
We encourage you to view the YouTube videos below and learn from these victims. Don’t be another victim!
Additionally, we recommend having reliable Security software on your computer because most scams are on the internet, and they usually begin with a pop-up message with a bogus tech support number to call.
